Skin & Facial Treatments · George
Professional treatment planning begins with an individual skin assessment, a discussion of suitability and clear expectations.
Professional Manual Exfoliation
Dermaplaning is a professional exfoliation treatment in which a sterile surgical blade is carefully passed across suitable facial skin to remove superficial dead skin cells and fine vellus hair.
It may leave the skin feeling smoother and looking more even or luminous, while allowing makeup to sit more smoothly. It is a surface treatment—not a method for treating deep scars, active acne or the underlying causes of unwanted facial hair.
Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and fine surface hair using a specialised sterile blade. It helps create a smoother, brighter complexion while improving the way skincare products absorb and makeup applies.
Each treatment is performed with precision and tailored to your skin’s needs. Dermaplaning can help improve dullness, uneven texture and surface dryness, leaving the skin feeling soft, refined and refreshed.

A Common Concern
Dermaplaning cuts fine hair at the skin surface and does not change its follicle, colour or growth pattern. Regrowth can initially feel blunt because the hair was cut straight across, but the treatment does not convert fine vellus hair into coarse terminal hair.
Your Treatment Journey
Technique, pressure and treated areas are adapted to facial contours, skin condition and sensitivity.

02
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared. A new sterile blade and hygienic professional technique are essential.
03
The skin is held taut while controlled strokes remove superficial buildup and vellus hair from appropriate areas.
04
Gentle barrier-supportive products and sunscreen are applied or advised. Active skincare is reintroduced according to your instructions.
Suitability & Safety
Dermaplaning should not be performed indiscriminately. Active inflammation, infection and impaired barrier function can increase irritation and complication risk.
Active inflamed acne, cold sores, infection, open wounds, sunburn, dermatitis, significant irritation or a recent procedure may require postponement. Disclose medicines and abnormal scarring or bleeding history.
Temporary redness, tightness, sensitivity, dryness or minor superficial nicks can occur. Less commonly, irritation, breakouts, infection or changes in pigmentation may develop.
Avoid scrubs, acids, retinoids, waxing and unnecessary heat for the advised period. Keep hands and tools away from the treated skin, moisturise gently and use broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Suitability and aftercare are confirmed during your individual skin assessment.
It removes superficial dead skin-cell buildup and fine vellus hair from suitable areas of the face.
No. Cutting hair at the surface does not alter the follicle, colour or growth type. Regrowth may briefly feel blunt at its cut end.
It is generally avoided over active inflamed or infected breakouts because the blade can irritate lesions and increase the risk of spreading bacteria.
Most suitable clients find the controlled surface technique comfortable, but sensitivity varies and discomfort should be reported during treatment.
Freshly exfoliated skin should be kept clean and allowed to settle. Follow the individual timing given before applying makeup, and use clean products and tools.
Timing depends on skin recovery, sensitivity and goals. Treatment should not be repeated simply because hair begins its normal regrowth.
