About the Founders

Meet Marilize and Carla.

Marilize Fourie and Carla van Niekerk are the co-founders of Marilize & Carla Aesthetics, known today as MC Aesthetics. Their shared passion spans aesthetics, health, wellness and considered hospitality.

Both began their careers at the renowned Isa Carstens Academy in Stellenbosch. Their professional journeys took them locally, abroad and to sea, working with high-profile guests across luxury cruise ships, ultra-luxury yachts and leading international practices.

They met in 2012 while working aboard a luxury ocean liner. After travelling across all seven continents, their love for South Africa brought them to George, where they established MC Aesthetics.

Their mission is to provide every individual who visits them with a lifetime of healthy skin, enhancing inner beauty and inner calm.

Carla van Niekerk, co-founder of MC Aesthetics

Carla van Niekerk

Carla has a passion for the medical and surgical field of skincare. She has been in the industry as a qualified somatologist since 2007 and has international training and experience.

She then gained more knowledge and experience as an aesthetic skincare therapist, working alongside medical doctors with some of the best equipment, cutting-edge technologies and results-driven products. Ever since, Carla has gained experience at some of the top spas and practices in the world.

In addition, Carla received the 2020 Therapist of the Year award from Professional Beauty South Africa.

Carla prides herself on creating, guiding and accompanying her patients through bespoke skin treatment plans to ensure natural, lasting results.

Marilize Fourie, co-founder of MC Aesthetics

Marilize Fourie

In 2006, Marilize completed her somatology qualification at the renowned Isa Carstens Academy in Stellenbosch. Ever since, Marilize has gained experience in the aesthetic skincare and health and wellness industries at some of the top practices and spas around the globe.

Marilize has a background in spa management and extensive experience as a spa and clinic manager throughout her career.

Her mission is to meticulously attend to detail, ensuring each guest experiences the luxury they truly deserve. She believes in recognising the uniqueness of each individual: everyone should feel a sense of belonging because they truly deserve it.

Sharon Bennett, beauty therapy pioneer at MC Aesthetics in George

Beauty Therapy Pioneer

Sharon Bennett

With over 50 years of experience in beauty therapy, Sharon Bennett is a true pioneer in the South African skincare industry and a trusted name in the George community.

After matriculating in 1972, she trained under one of South Africa’s very first beauty therapists — a founding member of CIDESCO.

Sharon expanded her expertise at the University of Paris and Serpa Laboratories (Dr. Renaud) in France, gaining international mastery in cosmetology.

She later opened her own clinic in Sea Point, Cape Town, where she built a reputation for excellence.

In 1997, Sharon and her family settled in George, where she has been transforming skin and building long-standing client relationships ever since.
