1. Purpose and status
This manual is prepared for Marilize and Carla Aesthetics (Pty) Ltd as a private body under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA) and includes information relevant to POPIA. It should be maintained in line with the Information Regulator’s current requirements and the company’s actual record systems.

3. PAIA guidance and requests
The Information Regulator publishes a PAIA guide, prescribed request forms and current fees. A requester must use the prescribed process, identify the record sought, provide sufficient particulars and explain the right to be exercised or protected. Access may be refused on grounds permitted by PAIA.
4. Categories of records
Records may include company and statutory records; policies; client, booking, consent and treatment records; clinical photographs; financial and tax records; supplier and contractor records; employee records; marketing records; website correspondence; safety and incident records; and legal or insurance records.
5. Processing of personal information
Personal information may be processed for treatment administration and safety, appointments, communication, payment, statutory compliance, employment, supplier management, security, complaints, insurance and lawful marketing. Data subjects may include clients, prospective clients, employees, practitioners, suppliers and website users.
6. Recipients and cross-border processing
Information may be supplied where lawful to authorised personnel, practitioners, service providers, payment and accounting providers, professional advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities. Cross-border processing, if any, must comply with POPIA and appropriate safeguards.
7. Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect records against loss, unauthorised access, interference, alteration or destruction.
