Thank you for choosing MC Aesthetics for your massage and body therapy treatment. Whether you're enjoying a relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, hot stone massage, lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage (where appropriate), or a customised body treatment, these guidelines will help maximise your results and enhance your overall wellbeing.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

On the day of your appointment:

Drink plenty of water to ensure you are well hydrated.

Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete your consultation and relax before your treatment.

Inform your therapist of any injuries, pain, recent surgeries, medical conditions, allergies, or changes to your health.

Please advise your therapist if you:

Are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.

Have high or uncontrolled blood pressure.

Have heart conditions.

Have diabetes.

Have varicose veins or circulatory disorders.

Have osteoporosis.

Have recent fractures, sprains, or muscle tears.

Have a fever, flu, or contagious illness.

Have open wounds, skin infections, or rashes.

Have recently undergone surgery.

Are taking blood-thinning medication.

For your comfort, we recommend avoiding alcohol before your treatment.

DURING YOUR TREATMENT

Your comfort is our priority.

Please communicate with your therapist if:

The pressure is too light or too firm.

You experience discomfort or pain.

The room temperature needs adjusting.

You require additional support or positioning.

Remember, massage should never cause excessive pain.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

Following your massage, you may experience:

Deep relaxation

Reduced muscle tension

Improved flexibility

Increased circulation

Mild tenderness after deep tissue or sports massage

Temporary tiredness or light-headedness

These responses are completely normal.

FIRST 24 HOURS

DO:

Drink plenty of water to support hydration and recovery.

Rest if your body feels tired.

Continue gentle movement and stretching.

Eat nourishing meals.

Listen to your body's recovery needs.

AVOID:

Intense exercise (particularly after deep tissue or sports massage)

Heavy lifting

Excessive alcohol

Hot baths, saunas, or steam rooms if you feel light-headed

Remaining seated for prolonged periods without moving

FOR THE NEXT 24–48 HOURS

You may experience mild muscle soreness, particularly after therapeutic or deep tissue massage.

This should improve within 24–48 hours.

Gentle walking, stretching, hydration, and adequate sleep will help your body recover.

BODY CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

To maintain your results:

Stay well hydrated.

Stretch regularly.

Maintain good posture.

Exercise consistently.

Moisturise your skin daily.

Follow any home exercises or recommendations provided by your therapist.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT PLAN

Depending on your goals, your therapist may recommend:

Monthly maintenance massage for general wellness.

Fortnightly treatments for ongoing muscular tension.

Weekly treatments during rehabilitation, injury recovery, or intensive training periods.

A personalised treatment programme combining massage with other wellness or aesthetic services offered at MC Aesthetics.

Consistency provides the greatest long-term benefits.

Although uncommon, please contact us if you experience:

Severe or worsening pain

Persistent swelling

Numbness or tingling that does not improve

Dizziness lasting several hours

Shortness of breath

Chest pain

Any unexpected or concerning reaction after treatment

If you experience chest pain, difficulty breathing, or any other medical emergency, seek immediate medical attention.
